The Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce has announced a new partnership with the Calgary Flames to support non-profit organizations in southern Alberta.
Through this initiative, the hockey club will donate $ 5 for tickets sold as part of the Flames Family of South Alberta Day offer to charities and organizations in the Greater Sudbury area. Lethbridge.
Tickets are for the game against the Arizona Coyotes at Family Day in February. The chamber hopes the partnership will last for years.
Vice President Nicole Geske is delighted with the well-being she can bring to the community, noting that the chamber does not always focus on business.
"We do not forget philanthropy, and that's the link for us. We have a committee dedicated to philanthropy and this is the icing on the cake. We help the community grow and develop, "she said.
Organizations receiving donations include the McMan Homelessness Initiative, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lethbridge and District, Coaldale Kinsmen Club and Alumni of the University of Lethbridge Pronghorn Hockey.
"The beginning of the year, January and February, tends to be very calm. Christmas is done, people forget somehow, but all these families are still living in poverty. You still have children who need support. You still have roaming. All our organizations must continue the work we do. Something like this is very beneficial, "said Jen Visser, executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Tickets for the game using the offer are available at the address nhl.com/flames/tickets/southernalberta.
